Problem Statement
"I do not want to be sitting in front of the calls all day, cold calling people" Jamie said, "I want to find the right people, and I want the right people to find me". Jamie Parrish is a brilliant full-time educator at River Hill High School. As an educator, Jamie has a busy schedule, but he also has a dream of becoming THE real estate agent that can bring the needed education to people and help them own/sell their dream property.
Jamie is, perhaps, one of the smartest people that I have met in technology and digital content creation. Like many small businesses that started after Pandemic, the ever-crowded digital space is burying most of the published, well-intended content. It was disappointing and sad to hear that some of the content sat in the Instagram account with fewer than 5 impressions. However, this does not make our star agent panic. Jamie decided that he had to learn the best practices to grow social media influence and gain leads. This makes sense to his schedule and his exceptional talents in technology.
Our Approach
I worked with Jamie for less than 4 months. Weekly commitment, weekly learning, weekly homework, weekly review, weekly feedback, no exceptions. To win in this digital battle, it takes commitment, and a fine representation of you and your business.
- Branding and positioning - Jamie and I workshopped what makes Educator Agent highly different and unique. It is his humor, his caring attitude, his experience with educating people that differentiates him and the brand. Jamie believes that finding and selling a home is one of the largest projects in life, and this project varies by people. With that in mind, we selected and developed together his "go-to-market" strategies and content strategies. Everything in this digital space has to reflect directly and indirectly Jamie & why him.
-
Social media and how it works - for about 2 months, Jamie and I focused purely on social media assessment, strategies, and tactics. We prioritized:
- Customer segmentation
- Targeting strategy
- Content marketing and its publishing rhythms.
- Organic content - every business has its own personalities. We lose the ability of reaching out when we lose the characters. As a content creator, we find Jamie confident, humorous in his quirky way, intentional, professional, and warm. We identify that reels work more effective for him than the carousels (carousels can be just as effective but carousels lose Jamie's charming personal traits). We encourage that Jamie takes the comments from the viewers to the next level by responding in interactive approach. We encourage collaboration to show the branded influence and localized engagement. We look at a lot of insights to continue the trials and errors to identify the right way that works for Jamie, and Jamie only.
- Advertising - Jamie was very committed to the success and very committed to the hours and hours of hard work and diligence. We got together every week and see if the time has come for the advertising. Is our content ready? Have we showed the algorithm the way of finding us the right people before we put ads behind it to scale? It took Jamie around 3 months before he was ad ready. And he is not taking it to the next level. From no view to 100+ likes, it took Jamie 3 months. Now his influence on Instagram continues to grow and thrive! It cannot make me more proud!
